Job description
As Revenue Manager, you will be responsible for maximising our organisation’s revenue and profit through strategic price management and demand forecasting. You play a crucial role in optimising revenue streams through a detailed and dynamic pricing strategy. You will work closely with various departments, such as Front Office, Sales, Marketing and Operations, to ensure that the right price is offered to the right customer at the right time.
Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of revenue management strategies: Responsible for creating pricing strategies that take into account demand, competition and market conditions to maximise utilisation and profitability.
- Data analysis and forecasting: Analyse sales data, historical trends, market information and competitive data to make accurate forecasts and proactive decisions.
- Pricing optimisation: Managing rates and pricing for rooms, packages, events and F&B revenues. This includes adjusting rates based on real-time supply and demand.
- Yield management: Application of yield management techniques to strike the right balance between occupancy and average price (ADR) for maximum RevPAR (Revenue per Available Room) and GOP (Gross Operating Profit).
- Customer segmentation: Analysis of customer behaviour and segmentation to provide targeted offers to suit different markets and customer needs (e.g. corporate, leisure, groups).
- System management: Management and optimisation of revenue management systems and booking engine tools.
- Reporting and performance analysis: Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports such as RevPAR, ADR, GOP, occupancy rates, and report directly to management.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams: Work closely with the Sales and Marketing department to align pricing strategies with promotions and marketing campaigns aimed at increasing sales.
- Competitive analysis: Regularly monitor competitive activities and benchmark rates and market share to develop competitive strategies.
Job requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in revenue management, preferably in the hospitality, hotel, or travel industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, Tourism, or similar.
- Analytical skills: Strong skills in data analysis, forecasting and interpreting complex data sets.
- Technical skills: Experience with revenue management systems (RMS), Property Management Systems (PMS), Exact and advanced Excel skills.
- Communication skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present data and strategies in a clear and convincing manner.
- Problem-solving skills: Proactive and creative in developing solutions and strategies to address challenges and opportunities.
- Team player: Collaborative with other departments and the ability to work in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
